Michelle Simon Fromme is an integrative therapy practitioner who combines the modalities of breath and body awareness, meditation, mindful movement, restorative yoga, reiki, essential oil therapy, and music. She provides a nurturing space of refuge supporting others in finding moments of ease, calm, love, and care for their bodies and minds. She strives to have a practice that is inclusive of all bodies, all ages, all backgrounds, and all abilities — a practice that can be supportive of all beings meeting each where they are in the moment. She strongly believes in cultivating self-compassion, acceptance, equanimity, belonging, and community.

Since her late teenage years, Michelle has been living with post-viral pain and deep fatigue mostly unresponsive to traditional and non-traditional treatments. She is aware of the emotions, judgments, and hard realities that arise when learning to manage one’s changing energetic and physical abilities and how multi-faceted these issues are. As a life-long lover of dance and movement and as someone always seeking to learn more and support others, it was kismet when she discovered UZIT and completed the integrative therapy program. The practices of integrative therapy are for everyone. They can be done standing, sitting, or lying down and address symptoms such as pain, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, and digestive issues. In addition, Michelle is certified in Aroma Yoga and has extensive experience with Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and therapeutic yoga for anxiety, depression, and nervous system regulation. She is currently studying both restorative and accessibility practices.

Michelle has served on and supported the work of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) leadership team of a K12 independent school since 2015. She believes that caring for ourselves individually and collectively with integrative therapy practices can allow for the nourishment, fortitude and the sustenance needed to live a life working toward social justice and a more peaceful world. When we can pause, deeply listen, sit with discomfort, and find compassion for ourselves and others, we can more authentically and skillfully be in the world and move into wise action. We all are lives in progress and live in a space between together. Michelle believes that by nurturing ourselves and each other we can use newfound energy, however much it may be, to lead resistance and change from wherever we are and however we are able.

If we allow care, connection, and compassion to unfold, from the wisdom of the body, we become more aligned to what is righteous, clear and just.
